Authorities Investigate Student Harassment Case in Guangdong

GUANGDONG — Officials have launched an investigation into a reported student harassment incident at a secondary school earlier this week. The situation came to public attention after a short video circulated on social media, prompting widespread concern among parents and education authorities.

Local police confirmed that all students involved have been identified. Disciplinary procedures and counseling programs are being implemented under the supervision of school administrators and the education bureau.

In response, the Guangdong Education Department has introduced a province-wide initiative focused on preventing bullying and promoting emotional intelligence among students. “Our schools must be places of safety and respect,” said a department spokesperson. “We are committed to ensuring that every student feels secure and supported.”

The Ministry of Education has also directed schools across China to enhance awareness programs that teach empathy, communication, and conflict resolution, aiming to create a healthier and more respectful academic culture.
